Global Warming -Floods!

As part of the wonderful effect of global warming, we have experienced record rainfall not once this month, but twice. First we had a record 8.8 inches in 72 hours just before St. Patty's Day. Our house was built in 1938 and (according to neighbors who have lived here 50+ years) the house NEVER had standing water before. We had about 4 inches in the basement rooms that we pumped and cleared over and over using wet-vacs. This effort saved our washer, drier and boiler, which was better than many homes.

Now, we are supposed to get 6 inches in 48 hours. The ground is still saturated from that rain and the rains we have had since then. So, the basement is already showing seepage after about 14 hours of rain. It's going to be another rough week, I think.

In all of this, we have not even taken any new photos. Sorry. I'll try to snap some before I begin bailing us out. Josie has started to smile at us and is growing like crazy. How the time flies.
